Dr. Brian S. Boxer Wachler is regarded by both his patients and
peers as one of the leaders in the field of vision correction.
He has earned a reputation among other eye surgeons for being the "must-see" doctor
when it comes to themselves, their families and their most challenging
cases. In addition, patients who need repairs of prior vision surgeries
often seek Dr. Boxer Wachler's assistance.
One of the world's few certified refractive eye surgeons, Dr.
Boxer has pioneered surgical techniques and guidelines that have
become industry standard, including the procedure for the surgical
reversal of presbyopia (the need for reading glasses). His work
has changed the way surgeons perform LASIK and other vision correction
procedures. He was the first doctor in North America to use C3-R
treatment for keratoconus (a degenerative eye disease leading to
progressive loss of vision) and the first in the world to combine
this treatment with Intacs. The FDA adopted Dr. Boxer Wachler's
procedure guidelines for the approved surgical technique for Intacs,
and these are now the basis for instructional courses used to train
other surgeons. Recognized widely for his expertise, Dr. Boxer
Wachler has been invited to deliver hundreds of lectures on refractive
surgery to thousands of eye surgeons from around the globe.
Dr. Boxer Wachler is the author of the LASIK
Consumer Report, one of the most detailed and widely consulted
consumer publications in the field. He also is the founder of
the non-profit organization Giving Vision which is committed
to providing comprehensive vision care to the community at large
with a specific emphasis on caring for the children and elderly
of California.
Dr. Boxer Wachler established the Boxer Wachler Vision Institute
in Beverly Hills, California to provide patients with what he
feels is the very best standard of care. His goal for the Institute
is to set global benchmarks for practicing medicine with integrity;
gathering insight that benefits the industry; and treating patients
with innovation. As a result, his patients benefit from the latest
research and technologies in addition to comprehensive, personalized
care.

Dr. Boxer Wachler received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychobiology
from the University of California, Los Angeles . He earned his
medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School and completed his
residency in ophthalmology at Saint Louis University . Dr. Boxer
Wachler is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology
and is currently on staff at UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai
Medical Center.
