Dr. William Chow is a board-certified specialist in neurology
with subspecialty training in clinical neurophysiology. As an active
attending neurologist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Chow
provides consultations to patients and other physicians. He specializes
in diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, treating
a variety of disorders including migraine, stroke, multiple sclerosis,
epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, neuropathy,
and traumatic brain and spinal cord injury. Dr. Chow routinely
performs and interprets electroencephalograms, electromyelographs,
nerve conduction studies and evoke potential studies.
Dr. Chow is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley
with a double major in Neurobiology and Psychology. He graduated
from New York Medical College with his M.D., and then completed
his medical internship at NYU's North Shore University Hospital
and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center . Dr. Chow moved to
Los Angeles for his Neurology Residency at UCLA Medical Center
and was the recipient of an American Academy of Neurology Scholarship.
He also completed a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology.
Dr. Chow is not only active in his clinical practice, but he also
serves as a member of the Clinical Faculty of the David Geffen
School of Medicine at UCLA. He teaches residents and medical students
in neurology diagnosis and treatment. In addition, he supervises
the clinical fellows in the interpretation of various neurophysiology
studies.
He had participated as a consultant in clinical research trials
for pharmaceuticals and also has testified as an expert witness
in jury trials. Dr. Chow is comfortable speaking to journalists
on a wide range of neurological subjects from dementia and migraines
to multiple sclerosis treatments.
