Dr. Eric Millstein is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic repair of shoulder and knee injuries.  In addition, Dr. Millstein performs shoulder and knee replacement to treat arthritis and cares for bone fractures in all areas of the body. He is knowledgeable on topics such as gender-specific knee replacement and arthroscopic shoulder surgery and enjoys providing media commentary on these and other orthopedic subjects.

Dr. Millstein completed his undergraduate studies in mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he also developed an interest in athletic injuries and sports medicine. He later graduated with multiple honors from the School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and then completed his orthopaedic training at the University of Chicago.

Most recently, Dr. Millstein spent eighteen months at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Van Nuys as a fellow in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. This advanced training included arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the hip, shoulder, knee and ankle. He also received advanced training in procedures such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and arthroscopic repairs of the rotator cuff and shoulder instability.

Dr. Millstein has presented research on the long-term outcomes of ACL reconstruction and arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Millstein currently lives in Venice, California and sees patients in his Century City office daily. In his free time, he competes in triathlons and also enjoys golf, movies, travel and skiing.
