Dr. Kristi M. Pado is a board-certified surgical breast specialist
and holds the position of Director of Patient Education at the
Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center, A Project of Women's Guild,
at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Pado has particular expertise in minimally invasive diagnostic
and curative treatments for all types of benign and malignant breast
conditions. She treats common breast problems including breast
cancer, pre-malignant diseases ("pre-cancer"), abnormal
breast imaging studies, breast lumps and cysts, breast pain, nipple
discharge, breast infections, abnormal breast development, and
sees high-risk patients with a genetic and/or familial predisposition
to breast cancer.
Dr. Pado participates in multiple breast-related research projects
at Cedars-Sinai, and publishes articles and book chapters on topics
in her field. A frequent presenter, she speaks to countless community
audiences, multiple Los Angeles-area hospitals, national and international
breast cancer conferences, and medical societies.
She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member
of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the American Cancer
Society Oncology Group, the American Medical Association and the
American Medical Women's Association.
Dr. Pado is a former Oxford University scholar who graduated with
distinction from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California
with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She received her medical
degree from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine
and finished her General Surgery internship and residency at Virginia
Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. In addition, Dr.
Pado completed a Surgical Breast Oncology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai
Medical Center.
Dr. Pado has provided expert commentary to both television and
radio media outlets and continues to make herself available to
provide her experienced medical opinion on topics including the
practice of partial breast radiation (brachytherapy) for breast
cancer, sentinel lymph node biopsy, breast MRI, and lifestyle risk
factors for breast cancer.
