Dr. Khawar Siddique specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery
(such as percutaneous fusions and decompressions), the surgical
treatment of primary and metastatic spinal tumors, and occipital-cervical
diseases.
Dr. Siddique's past and current research interests include pain
management options after spine surgery, spinal cord injury, models
of spinal metastatic tumors, and analysis of proteases in brain
gliomas. He has written several articles and book chapters
for peer-reviewed publications, including Journal of Neurosurgery, Oncogene,
and Neurosurgery.
Dr. Siddique is a member of the American Association of Neurological
Surgeons, the American Association for Cancer Research, and the
Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and is board eligible for the
American Board of Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Siddique graduated with Highest Distinction in physiology
and with cum laude honors from the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign. He earned his medical degree with Alpha Omega
Alpha honors from the University of Illinois College of Medicine,
then completed his residency training in neurosurgery at the University
of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria . Dr. Siddique then completed
a fellowship in spine surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in
Los Angeles, California . His neurological spine surgery practice
is based at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Siddique is fluent in English, Punjabi and Urdu.
